Mental Health Assessments
A Mental Health Assessment consists of document review, clinical interview, and a battery of formal psychological test measures to provide thorough background, diagnosis, and treatment plan recommendations.
Assessments examine mental health, personality, and cognitive factors to explain a psychological profile. Each mental health assessment is tailored to meet the particular needs of an individual or referral source. We complete assessments for diagnostic and treatment purposes.
At a minimum, assessment involves clinical interview and a formal standardized measure of some kind. When more detail is required, assessment may include several formal measures, biophysical stress profile, and cognitive screening. The time frame involved ranges from 2 -7 hrs and this will be discussed with you during an initial consultation with a psychologist. After the assessment is complete, a follow-up visit is provided to explain results and make recommendations.
